Private Dog Training Lessons
Private Dog Training in Northern Fairfield County, CT
Whether you have a hard time adjusting to the group class schedule, your dog is reactive or uncomfortable around other dogs, or you simply want to discuss a behavior concern in the comfort of your home, our private dog training sessions are an ideal way to teach your dog new skills, address specific behaviors, and include the entire family.
Because we come to you, private lessons can also be the most convenient route for dog training, especially for busy families with work, school, extracurricular activities, and social obligations on the agenda.
Private dog training also allows for the most customization. Because we work with you and your dog one-on-one, you tell us your training goals, and we’ll help you attain them.
Working with our CPDT trainers in this way ensures you receive feedback and recommendations immediately, maximizing your learning and your dog’s training.
Private lessons are offered on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Private Dog Training Packages
3 Private Training Sessions
- We recommend three sessions for straightforward behavior concerns, such as mouthing or jumping; targeted skills, such as loose-leash walking; or general obedience and manners. This gives us time to introduce effective training strategies, practice them, and make adjustments based on your dog’s progress.
7 Private Training Sessions
- For more complex concerns, such as separation anxiety, leash reactivity, or aggression, we typically recommend seven or more sessions. This gives us the time to understand the factors contributing to the behavior, implement a training plan, and build new skills and responses through consistent practice.
10 Private Training Sessions
- Our 10-session package provides the time and consistency needed to address behavior concerns, build new skills, and strengthen them through continued practice. With more time together, we can adapt and refine your training plan as your dog progresses, tailoring each session to your goals and your dog’s needs.
Group & Private Training Packages
If your dog is comfortable around other dogs, we encourage you to consider one of our training packages, which allows your dog to learn and practice skills in different situations, teaches additional skills, and prepares them for real-world interactions. Combining private training and group classes provides individualized support while giving dogs valuable opportunities to practice their skills around other dogs, people, and distractions.
